Component Management / Overview

Devices, machines and plants are designed and applied to fulfill various tasks at different locations. An efficient logistics process ensures that the components operate reliably and can be used for a long time. However, every design of a system is changed sooner or later and this has effects on the logistics process as well. A powerful component management is therefore important for development, procurement and operation.
As many different devices and materials are used, a perfect overview of the availability and state of the hardware is indispensable. In this context, the persons in charge are confronted with many questions:
- Where are the devices at the moment?
- Which devices are ready for use / defective?
- Which components are often defective?
- Which faults occur?
- Where does software / firmware still needs to be updated?
- For which devices will repair tasks be due soon, because current operating hours are high?
- etc.

These questions and similar ones are not easy to be answered if many sites exist and numerous devices are used. Details must be registered and clearly and coherently represented. Simple lists and tables are not suitable for these requirements. The solution is a database tool, which manages all necessary data and displays them well-arranged.
CONDOK developed a tool, which meets these requirements and offers additional benefits:
- Additional software such as MS Access® is not required
- Display and editing of the data is carried out with the MS Internet Explorer®
- Data can also be exchanged between different persons if the internet cannot be used for security reasons
